JOYA Health, a corporate skin health benefit provider, has announced a new integration with Aesthetic Record, an electronic medical record (EMR) and practice management platform used by over 9,000 aesthetic clinics. The collaboration allows clinics to redeem JOYA Health membership benefits directly at point of sale (POS) within Aesthetic Record’s system.

Operational and Financial Integration

The integration supports real-time patient benefit redemptions and tracks financial data, aiming to improve practice efficiency and patient experience. Clinics using both platforms can now eliminate manual processes and gain a consolidated view of patient interactions and revenue.

Patient Access and Acquisition

JOYA Health functions as an employer-sponsored benefit, offering services such as skin cancer screenings, acne and anti-aging treatments, and hair loss care. With this integration, JOYA members can access participating clinics more easily and receive personalized treatment plans at reduced out-of-pocket costs.

Industry Perspective

JOYA Health’s VP of Product, Ian Metz, described the integration as a step toward improving both operational efficiency and patient experience. Tiphany Hall, Chief Growth Officer at Aesthetic Record, noted that the partnership also serves to credential providers within JOYA’s network, potentially enhancing lead generation for participating clinics.

Getting Started

  • Existing Users: Aesthetic Record clinics already partnered with JOYA can activate the integration via the AR Wallet for immediate access to benefit redemptions and financial tracking.
  • New Clinics: Aesthetic Record users not yet on JOYA’s network are invited to join and secure regional access.

Establishment Labs Holdings Inc, a global medical technology company focused on breast aesthetics and reconstruction, announced a partnership with GRAMMY Award-winning singer Meghan Trainor. Trainor recently received Motiva Implants.

Trainor Shares Her Experience with Motiva Implants

“Self-confidence and body positivity are so important to me. After losing a bunch of weight and having two kids, I have always struggled loving my breasts because they were never even. I’ve been dreaming about getting this done for so many years. Once I learned about the recent FDA approval of Motiva Implants, I knew this was the perfect time for me,” Trainor said. “I did my research, consulted with several plastic surgeons, and chose Motiva Implants because they offered the look, the smooth silk feel, and the safety I was looking for. There is just such a difference with these new generation implants. I’m absolutely in love with the results—they feel so soft and natural and I’m more confident than ever. I can’t wait to get back on stage with so many new outfit choices.”

Motiva Implants: Design and Features

Motiva Implants, available to patients in the United States since October 2024, feature the patented SmoothSilk surface, which is reportedly designed for enhanced biocompatibility and scientifically shown to promote low inflammation. According to the company, this surface not only helps the tissue around the implant to stay soft, but also has led to an industry-low 0.5% capsular contracture rate.

Motiva SmoothSilk Ergonomix implants feature a unique shape that adapts as the body changes position, maintaining a round shape when lying down and a teardrop shape when standing up. Motiva SmoothSilk Round implants provide increased upper breast fullness and softness while keeping a round full form regardless of position.

Clinical Studies and Patient Satisfaction

Motiva devices, through FDA clinical studies, have reported less than 1% device-related complications and above 97% patient and surgeon satisfaction rates, according to the company.

Establishment Labs on the Partnership

“We could not be more thrilled to partner with Meghan Trainor, an artist who echoes the sentiments we hear from millions of women around the world who choose Motiva for their breast augmentation,” commented Juan José Chacón-Quirós, founder of Establishment Labs. “It is an exciting time for the organization as we are finally able to bring Motiva to women in the United States. These implants were designed to ensure women’s health and well-being. Motiva enables plastic surgeons to perform the surgeries they want and women to get the results they deserve. This is real innovation leading to better patient outcomes. Top plastic surgeons around the US are adopting Motiva Implants rapidly, and many women, like Meghan, are choosing and embracing both the technology and the natural results.”

Motiva’s Global Presence and Scientific Backing

Since first becoming commercially available in 2010, over 4 million Motiva devices have been delivered to plastic and reconstructive surgeons in over 90 countries globally, according to Establishment Labs. The company’s technologies and products are covered by over 200 patent applications in 20 separate patent families worldwide and are supported by over 100 clinical and scientific studies and peer-reviewed publications.

Plastic Surgeon on the Benefits of Motiva Implants

“When Meghan came to me, I was excited to offer her Motiva Implants. These implants are so much better than anything that has been available on the US market. They are designed not only to achieve my patients’ aesthetic goals but also to ensure the highest quality and safety, backed by years of research and scientific data that show some of the lowest complication rates,” said Payman Danielpour, MD, a board-certified plastic surgeon in Beverly Hills, Calif. “Since their approval, I’ve been using Motiva Implants almost exclusively and couldn’t be more pleased with the results. Motiva is a new generation of implants and I’m thrilled that Meghan, and women across the US, now have access to such an advanced device. I’ve already seen their incredible impact on many patients in my practice.”

RealSelf Unveils Spring 2025 ‘Real Talk’ Aesthetic Trends Report https://plasticsurgerypractice.com/news/company-news/realself-unveils-spring-2025-real-talk-aesthetic-trends-report/ Tue, 25 Feb 2025 18:54:42 +0000 https://plasticsurgerypractice.com/?p=121473 Summary: RealSelf’s Spring 2025 Real Talk report highlights emerging trends in the aesthetics industry, based on insights from top physicians and over 55 million site visits. The report covers key shifts in consumer preferences, including a rise in surgical facial procedures, innovative breast augmentation techniques, and a growing demand for body contouring and regenerative treatments.

Key Takeaways:

  • Facelifts, particularly deep plane techniques, are surging in popularity as patients seek natural-looking rejuvenation with minimal downtime.
  • The demand for body contouring procedures is rising, driven by an increase in GLP-1-induced weight loss and the need for skin-tightening solutions.

RealSelf, the online resource for people exploring cosmetic treatments and providers, released its quarterly Real Talk report offering a comprehensive look at the key trends shaping the aesthetics landscape for Spring 2025. The report features industry insights from top physicians across the United States, including Dr Urmen Desai, Dr Suzette Miranda, Dr Goretti Ho Taghva, and Dr Jill Hessler.

Based on insights from over 55 million site visits, the Real Talk report presents predictions in the aesthetic industry designed to inform consumers’ decisions. Top trends and key takeaways include:

  • Surgical Facial Optimization: Facelifts will be the most popular this spring. People are seeking more surgical interventions for the face and seeking a more natural look. Modern techniques such as the preservation of deep plane facelift allows for a natural rejuvenation that reduces the signs of aging while preserving the patient’s identity, with less downtime and recovery than traditional facelift techniques.
  • The Internal Bra: Patients will increasingly choose to opt into this type of breast scaffolding during breast augmentation or reconstruction procedures due to its ability to provide enhanced support and improve the long-term stability of implants. The internal bra, typically made of surgical mesh or similar materials, helps to prevent implants from dropping or shifting over time, offering a more secure, perkier, natural shaped breast.
  • Body Contouring: As we near the summer months, we will see a rise in demand for body contouring procedures like body lifts, brachioplasties (arm lifts), and thigh lifts. This likely rise in demand can be linked to an increase in GLP-1 type medications as rapid weight loss often leaves the skin lacking elasticity, creating the need for treatments that restore shape and firmness.
  • Refreshed and Defined Eyelids: Upper and lower blepharoplasty across all groups, including more male patients will become increasingly popular. Many will seek a refreshing, well-rested appearance without altering the natural eye shape. Upper blepharoplasty will especially be popular among women who are mindful of evolving makeup trends that emphasize a defined eyelid contour.
  • Regenerative Treatments: There will be a renewed interest in classic treatments, as regenerative treatments are the future of aesthetics. More patients will prioritize medical facials, microneedling, BBL Moxi, Therage FLX, Ultherapy Prime to enhance skin texture and elasticity, reflecting a more holistic and long-term approach to facial rejuvenation. With beloved treatments like the Vampire Facial, that combines dermal fillers with PRP, and new techniques like AutoCorre, patients can expect a completely natural facial rejuvenation.

“In a world where the notion of beauty is always changing, understanding and anticipating trends to help inform aesthetic decisions for the average consumer is key,” said Minou Clark, CEO of RealSelf. “As a legacy brand, it’s important we stay one step ahead and are at the forefront of driving change in the industry as we work to further destigmatize cosmetic procedures.”

Summary:
Crown Laboratories has acquired Revance Therapeutics, adding Daxxify, an injectable wrinkle treatment, and the RHA Collection of dermal fillers to its portfolio. Revance’s common stock will be delisted from NASDAQ as part of the transaction. The companies announced the merger agreement last August. The acquisition expands Crown’s portfolio, which includes aesthetic and skincare brands such as SkinPen, PanOxyl, Blue Lizard, and StriVectin. Crown will continue Revance’s partnership with Teoxane SA for the US distribution of RHA dermal fillers.

Key Takeaways:

  • Crown Acquires Revance – The acquisition adds Daxxify and the RHA Collection to Crown Laboratories’ offerings.
  • Revance Stock Delisted – Revance’s common stock will be removed from NASDAQ and deregistered under federal securities regulations.
  • Business Operations Remain Unchanged – Crown will continue Revance’s partnership with Teoxane SA for US distribution of dermal fillers.

Crown Laboratories Inc, a privately held global skincare company, has acquired Revance Therapeutics Inc, a biotechnology company specializing in aesthetic and therapeutic offerings whose portfolio includes Daxxify for injection and the RHA Collection of dermal fillers.

RHA technology is proprietary to and manufactured in Switzerland by Teoxane SA. Revance is an independent distributor of Teoxane SA for the RHA Collection of dermal fillers for US distribution. Revance had also partnered with Viatris Inc to develop a biosimilar to onabotulinumtoxinA, commonly known as Botox, for injection and Shanghai Fosun Pharmaceutical to commercialize Daxxify in China.

“We are excited to officially welcome Revance to the Crown family. This acquisition strengthens our leadership position and enhances our ability to deliver innovative solutions to customers, with what we believe is a comprehensive portfolio that represents the three pillars of facial aesthetics—relax, restore, and regenerate—and we will support these offerings with a highly trained and experienced sales force,” says Jeff Bedard, founder and chief executive officer of Crown, in a release. “We are well-positioned to become a global leader in the aesthetics and skincare industry and will leverage our combined resources to create long-term value for our stakeholders.”

Acquisition Brings Together Aesthetic and Skincare Brands

The companies announced they entered into a merger agreement last August, stating that the combination would provide an opportunity to create “a leading, innovative, high-growth aesthetics and skincare company,” with the combined company’s brands including Daxxify (toxin), the RHA Collection (filler), SkinPen (microneedling), PanOxyl (acne), Blue Lizard (sunscreen), and StriVectin (anti-aging).

According to a statement on Revance’s website, “The newly combined portfolio allows you, our practice partners, to achieve dynamic results and drive high patient satisfaction, growing your business through our differentiated brands and unwavering support.” The statement notes that all processes, support, and representation for each company remain the same until further notice. “We commit to clear communication and providing support throughout this process and will share more details as we have more information to share,” the statement reads.

Revance’s common stock will be delisted from the NASDAQ Global Select Market and deregistered under the Securities Exchange Act of 1934, as amended.

“We are thrilled to celebrate the successful completion of this transaction and to commence the integration of two innovative companies that we believe will create a leading player in the dynamic skincare and aesthetics markets,” says co-founders and managing partners Andrew Goldman and David Solomon of Hildred Capital, Crown’s parent company. “Crown remains committed to providing healthcare providers and aesthetic practices with outstanding science-based products. We are excited to bring together Revance’s and Crown’s aesthetic offerings, and we look forward to continuing Revance’s relationship with Teoxane to grow the RHA Collection by Teoxane in the US market.”
