The examples of Plastic Surgery could be Scar Revision, Mole Removal surgery and cosmetic surgery examples are breast augmentation or lip augmentation.

This is an extremely scary comment. The ONLY physicians that are properly trained and tested are those by the American Board of Medical Specialties. This means the most effectively trained surgeons are Board-Certified by the American Board of Plastic Surgery or the American Board of Facial Plastic Surgery.

Inpatient surgery usually requires that you stay in the hospital for a day or more so the doctors and nurses can monitor your recovery carefully. If you have outpatient surgery, you will go home the same day. This type of surgery may be performed in a hospital or an outpatient surgery clinic and you can go home when the doctor decides you’re ready.

That statement should be a red flag to anyone. As a plastic surgeon my knowledge of the surgical anatomy and function of the body is comprehensive. As an example, plastic surgeons perform cosmetic procedures such as rhinoplasty or facelifts to enhance beauty, and nasal or facial reconstruction following trauma or cancer surgery, as well as correcting birth defects such as cleft lip and nose. “Cosmetic surgeons” are frequently not surgeons by training. Some that call themselves cosmetic surgeons are dermatologists, some are family practice doctors by training. Specialized knowledge in an area limited by procedures that are not medically necessary and only those paid for in advance with cash or credit card is not an indication of excellence. There is no “board of cosmetic surgery” ever recognized by the American Board of Medical Specialties of which The American Board of Plastic Surgery has been a member of since 1941. . Always seek care for cosmetic procedures from a ASPS member surgeon, all of whom are committed to excellence in plastic surgery , all certified by the American Board of Plastic Surgery

Self- proclaimed boards outside of the ABMS are classified as rogue boards, a classification the public needs to become intimately aware of and clearly understand the difference, which they do not.
